Raven Klaasen and his New Zealand partner, Michael Venus, have thus far been able to beat their opponents fairly easily and relativity quickly.
In their latest match however, the stakes are higher and the competition tougher.
In a 5 set thriller against Australia’s John Peers and Finland’s Henri Kontinen, they won their quarterfinal match 4-6 6-3 6-7 6-4 6-3.
Whereas their previous match had only taken 1 hour and 17 minute in 3 straight set win, this time their 5 set victory took a whopping three hours and four minutes to achieve.
It is also the first time that they had lost a set.
Although they had won 4 of the 5 sets, they had to fight for the win in 2 of those sets.
However, they were able to win their last two sets fairly convincingly which still makes them the favourites to win the Wimbledon Doubles title.
Through to the Semi-finals, they have two more matches to go, with the first kicking off on centre court at 16:30 today.
