Elroy Qualifies for the 5000 Meter Olympics Athletics Final

Congratulations to Olympian, Elroy Galant, for qualifying for the 5000 meter athletics final.
Born and raised in Pacaltsdorp, the 29 year Elroy is the South African record holder for the 5000 meter long distance race, having shattered the record by nearly seven seconds earlier this year. He has won the 10km title, the SA Cross Country Champs 4km short course, the 12km long course and the 4km titles. He is also the SA Record holder for the 3000m indoors, having clocked 7:39.55 in Belgium in 2014. His next goal is to excel as a marathon athlete.
Elroy has an honours degree in Human Resource Management and another honours degree in Labour Relations Management. He loves R&B and hip-hop, grew up climbing the mountains of Jonkersberg, his favourite movie is Bad Boys, and he played rugby and cricket in school.
Elroy says that as South Africans, we’re capable of much more, but we just need to believe. Go for that gold Elroy.
